I have loved photography since I was a kid and I love shooting all kinds of things. People have told me that it’s better to narrow down your focus on a specific type of photography, but I just can’t do it. I love it all! The other things in my life that bring me joy are my family, husband, daughters, reading, sports (soccer and ultimate top that list), chocolate, ice cream, traveling, camping, and being outdoors. Okay, so I guess what I’m saying is I just like to have fun and enjoy life any way I can. When I get to capture the joy of life and all it’s special moments through my photography, even better!
As I mentioned above, my love for photography started as a kid, in the 5th grade to be specific, when I was in a photography 4-H club. As I got older, I would take classes any way I could and in college I received a minor in Fine Arts specializing in photography. From there I have had many jobs in photography. Here are a few:
· 18 years + working for a Graduation Event Photography company as a Photographer and Photographer Team Captain
· School Photographer
· Sports Team Pictures Photographer
· Sports in Action Photographer
· Product Inventory Photographer
· Wedding Photographer
· Portrait Photographer
· Real Estate Photographer
· I was a teacher for 9 years. I taught 3rd grade, middle school math and technology, and of course I squeezed in photography and yearbook elective classes for middle school whenever I could! (This also let’s you know that I’m comfortable and good with working with kids 😉 )
· I believe I am a laid back, flexible person. I can go with the flow and blend into my surroundings which is beneficial in helping people feel comfortable and not stressed in front of the camera.
I am currently based out of North Portland, Oregon, however, I love to travel and explore so I am usually game with going anywhere to take pictures. My family is from Scappoose, OR so I like to consider myself a Scappoose/ St. Helens area photographer as well.
